When pets are sick and not feeling well, it is important to gather as much information about their health condition as quickly as possible in order to start administering the best treatment right away. For this reason, Family Pet Animal Hospital maintains an in-clinic laboratory equipped with the latest technology that allows us to get results quickly and accurately.
Our in-house diagnostic equipment, IDEXX Catalyst and Sedivue analyzers, enable us to conduct chemistry panels, complete blood counts, and urinalysis testing and get the results within a matter of minutes. This quick turnaround time makes it possible for our veterinarian to give you a diagnosis and start treatment on the same day. We can also test for thyroid function, phenobarbital levels, heartworms, parvo, and giardia. Additionally, for pets who are not seriously ill, we are able to offer a comprehensive wellness profile that includes both fecal and heartworm tests as a bundle. These tests are sent to an outside laboratory, and we typically receive the test results in 1 or 2 days.
